Install APC in RHEL/CentOS 6.3/5.6 & Fedora
Install Dependency Packages for Installing APC in RHEL/CentOS 6.3/5.6 & Fedora too.
To Install APC in RHEL/CentOS 6.3/5.6 & Fedora using YUM package manager tool, we need to install packages like pecl, phpize and commands like apxs.
Install APC Using PECL
First of all, select the default settings when asked for the same.
Enable APC PHP Extension
To Install APC in RHEL CentOS 6.3 5.6 and Fedora, you need to execute the following command to enable APC extension in Apache configuration.
Now, Restart Apache Service for APC to take new changes.
Now we verify APC Installation
After that you will be required to create a file phpinfo.php in Apache web root directory like example/var/www/html/phpinfo.php.
After creating a file in Apache web root directory, add the following code to it and save it before closing the same.
Now open a browser and type the following given URL. You will see APC enabled configuration similar to below.
Enable PHP APC administration
Copy the following file to enable APC administration panel.
Now please open the file apc.php with VI editor.
Now set the username and password in the file apc.php as shown below.
Type the following URL in the browser to get the administration panel of APC.
Upgrade APC using PECL and to upgrade the same, just execute the following given command.
Uninstall APC using PECL:
If you like to remove/uninstall it, then type the following given command to un-install APC completely from the system.
Now you have successfully Install APC in RHEL/CentOS 6.3/5.6 & Fedora too.
